Hubbard Hills
Hubbard Hills mountain biking trails
Trail Info
Location: On the southwest edge of Viroqua, bordered by W. Maple St. and Sidie Hollow Rd.
History: In the Summer of 2009 Vernon Trails entered into communications with private land owner Cyndy Hubbard to build shared-use natural surface trails on her 22 acres of land that stretches from in town to just beyond city limits. Trail development began later that fall. This small but immeasurably important trail system spurred the concept of connecting to Sidie Hollow County Park through additional private lands. This would offer a much larger trail system, a non-motorized route, and allow trail users to create their own adventures.
Description: Given the immediate proximity of the trail system to the City of Viroqua, we designed pieces of trail that could be enjoyed by all levels of trail users. Based on the “stacked loop” trail design, the Trail Crew has developed trails that become increasingly more challenging the farther away one gets from the main trailhead. This property adjoins Rusty Ridge. Hubbard Hills’ trails are perfect for hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, nordic skiing, and mountain biking.
Trails: 2 miles of singletrack
Future Goals: To continue working with adjacent land owners to gain access to lands and develop a much larger system that ultimately connects to Sidie Hollow County Park.
Nearby Amenities: Walking & biking distance from town.
Trail Hours: 8 am – 8 pm
Trail Stewards: Pete T.
