Veteran Hills Disc Golf Course
In the fall of 2013, Vernon Trails partnered with the Viroqua VFW Post 3032 to build the city’s first disc golf course. The VFW has graciously allowed us to build and maintain a championship caliber course on 40+ acres of their land. The course design and construction began right away and we installed the final basket in August of 2015 and installed concrete teepads in the spring of 2016. There are 18 holes including many with alternate tee and basket locations. We are continuing work on the course to add even more alternates and other features. If you’d like to help fund this course, you can do so here. Veteran Hills would not be possible without the generous help of our sponsors. Our work on the VFW property also makes the land more accessible to other recreational activities like hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing.
At the peak of fall colors, Vernon Trails hosts the annual Shoot the Moon Classic disc golf tournament. This tournament is part of the Wisconsin Disc Golf tour and attracts professional and amateur players from all over the midwest.
