Veteran Hills Disc Golf Course
In the fall of 2013, Vernon Trails partnered with the Viroqua VFW Post 3032 to build the city’s first disc golf course. The VFW has graciously allowed us to build and maintain a championship caliber course on 40+ acres of their land. The course design and construction began right away and we installed the final basket in August of 2015 and installed concrete teepads in the spring of 2016. There are 18 holes including many with alternate tee and basket locations. We are continuing work on the course to add even more alternates and other features. Our work on the VFW property also makes the land more accessible to other recreational activities like hiking, trail running, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing.
At the peak of fall colors, Vernon Trails hosts the annual Shoot the Moon Classic disc golf tournament. This tournament is part of the Wisconsin Disc Golf tour and attracts professional and amateur players from all over the midwest.

Course Description: The course is on 40+ acres of land owned by the Viroqua VFW Post 3032 that is walking & biking distance from town. It’s a good mix of wooded technical and challenging open holes with moderate hills and lots of mature trees.
