We had a great turnout for the Spring Kick-Off at Veteran Hills Disc Golf Course. Seventeen volunteers put in over 48 hours of time and at the end of the day we had three more holes to play, bringing us up to TWELVE. A huge thanks to everybody that came out to help.
We hit the wooded end of Hole 8 first and with many hands helping we were able to cut and clear this whole area in under 2 hours. It was hugely rewarding to see the progress happen that fast. The power of teamwork.
Here’s the view from the tee and the basket area of Hole 8.
To get from Hole 8 to Hole 9, you can now take this cool little path we just cleared.
We did a little more cutting and clearing near the wooded tee on Hole 9. The rest of the fairway is in good condition after being mowed last fall. We put the basket on the right leg of this hole, with an alternate location on the left side. Here’s the view from the tee.
Again, much work had already been done on Hole 13 last fall, so the main focus was on opening up the basket area a bit more. After clearing that, we dropped the basket in and Hole 13 was ready to go.
We’ll be getting more tee signs and navigation signs up soon. In the meantime, refer to the up-to-date course map to help you navigate. And keep an eye out for our next big work day where we plan to get a few more holes completed.
