Vernon Trails Area Composite (VTAC)
Vernon Trails Area Composite (VTAC) is part of the Wisconsin League of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). This is a youth mountain biking team open to all middle and high school-aged riders within the Vernon County and surrounding areas.
What started as a humble team of high school riders in California has now grown into the country’s largest network of youth mountain bike leagues. NICA now has a presence in 30 states across the country, and over 24,000 athletes.
VTAC and NICA’s mission is to build strong minds, bodies, character, and communities through cycling. We foster this mission by focusing on our core values of fun, inclusivity, equity, respect and community.
- VTAC’s season runs July – October with 2X per week evening practices typically at Sidie Hollow with some special sessions at KVR or Hubbard Hills
- 5 optional Festival Weekends with races in September and October across Wisconsin
- There are no tryouts, there’s no bench. Everyone rides, and everyone has a place in NICA
- Scholarships and loaner/rental bikes are available
Join us at Sidie Hollow at the main picnic shelter on June 3rd at 5:30 for our Try-It Event.
Ride with coaches and members of the team and learn more about joining. Also enjoy free snacks and bike related games for prizes! If you plan to join, please register and sign the required waiver here: Registration Form
