Vernon Trails and the VFW, with the support of the City of Viroqua, have reached a two-year lease agreement that will keep the VFW property open for our community to hike, winter fat bike, play disc golf, recreate, and enjoy.
Now we need our community’s help to make it work.

$11,000 — Two-Year Lease Commitment
Vernon Trails has committed $11,000 toward the two-year lease with the VFW, helping ensure that this privately owned property remains available for public recreation.
A Desperately Needed New Mower & Property Maintenance
Maintaining the Veteran Hills Disc Golf Course requires an enormous amount of volunteer time, and we desperately need to replace our aging mowing equipment. A dependable mower is essential to keeping the trails, disc golf areas, and other public spaces maintained, accessible, and enjoyable.
Ongoing Stewardship
Funds will also help provide the tools, equipment, fuel, repairs, and supplies our volunteers need to continue caring for this property.For years, the VFW has generously allowed the community to recreate on its land. For years, Vernon Trails volunteers have contributed countless hours maintaining and improving the property so that thousands of people can enjoy it.This new partnership gives us the opportunity to continue that work.
But we cannot do it alone.
